1911, meet KG GunKote
A buddies Para in semigloss dark earth and semigloss black.

Heres the finished product. I tried to convince him to let me remove the sights first but he said to paint them.....so.....

I came up with a quick solution for the sights after we painted them tan. A little white paint.

Re: 1911, meet KG GunKote
do you do the Kphosp pretreatment like they suggest or just good degrease and sand blasting?
Re: 1911, meet KG GunKote
Goes like this:
Always wear clean rubber gloves. No skin contact during entire process.
Degrease with hot water and oxyclean, scrubbed with a small stiff bristle tooth brush. Blast with KG pre cleaner. Sandblast with aluminum oxide. Blow off with compressed air and degrease AGAIN with the KG pre cleaner. Pre heat to 350, this brought out a little more oil. Then used the KG pre cleaner again to remove any remaining oils and blast media. Re heated to 350 again and sprayed the gunkote stuff. Bake at 350 for one hour. Let cool to room temp, reassemble and serve with a nice side salad.....
Probably a little redundant...oh well.

Nice work! Is it as shiny/glossy as it is in the pictures?

It's a semigloss. It's a little shiny in the pics because we gave everything a good wiped down with CLP during reassembly. Not quite as shiny as in the pics in real life though.
