10.5 ar upper

Building a ar sbr. Any opinions on a rock river 10.5 inch upper in 223?

Just get the Blackout.

Double the price on the uppers. Barrel cost what a 223 upper cost.

Wait two more weeks and get the expensive one first.

10.5 on .223 is going to be finicky (sp) with ammo and reliability IMHO

I have a 10.5 RRA pistol and its awesome. They got the gas port size on these Wilson barrels just right and it runs so smooth like a 20" rifle. It makes my 16" rifles seem over gassed.

Usually the high pressure from the shorter gas system guns causes violent extraction but some how the shorter length of barrel after the gas port on a 10.5" barrel changes the dwell time for a very smooth action but still good extraction.

It seems like 10" guns are becoming very popular and the preferred commando upper for police and military right now.

I got lucky a year or two after the election shortage when everybody got restocked(overstocked) and got my upper complete with bolt and all for like $360 when you where lucky to get an upper for $500 without a bolt but they are going up again.

Rock river makes pert good stuff for the most part. If it was me I would take a hard look at the spikes tactical 10.5" upper. Comes complete with MPI bolt carrier group, heavy tungsten buffer, charging handle, and moe handguard. 499 with free shipping from aim.
