The Burns Range

Post by Doug Bowser on Mon Jan 09, 2012 1:07 am

There is a rumor about the possible closing of the Burns Range. It is true, we do not own the property but I talked to Frank Burns last week and I have proposed some ideas about continued use of the range.

I think continued use of the range is more than likely.

I hope so! I've gotten to shoot there twice, and I am hoping to add to that total this year!

I have been shooting there since 1984. The club spent $24,000 for the materials used in the pits (in 1983-84 dollars). I worked 93 weekend days in one year to help build the range. Nobody has more blood and sweat in that range than I do. I stood in mud and even lost a pair of sneakers in the bottom of the pits, due to the mud. I will do all that is possible to keep the range viable.

I hope that you can keep the range, especially after all the hard work you put into it. It's a great range and I've enjoyed competing on the Burns Range.
