Re: Next CMP Trip???
Yeah, I forgot about the glitch with the magnolia badge. Problem is badge states "2011" which they understandably assume expires 12/31. We were there around February. They accepted my explanation, but I was an existing customer. A new applicant might not be as lucky
Hopefully SubGun will add a date to this year's badges
Don't neglect the field grades when you go. My last garand shopping visit I had budgeted for, and expected to purchase a service grade. But I found a H&R with great numbers graded as field. Probably because of the nasty looking gas cylinder. Someone had brush painted it with heavy gloss black paint. A little stripper and a can of grill paint worked wonders...and saved me $100.

Shoe, did they have rack grades at the store, I don't see any listed on the site? I was thinking about getting one with a bad barrel and turning it into a .308.

No idea. That was a year ago. If they are on their site they are in the stores. My guess is "yes".

Only rack grades that I know that is available is the Winchester -- but, you can buy a Springfield or H&R Field Grade for what you will pay for a Win Rack Grade!!
Seems they have been getting away from the Rack Grades for the past several years -- they are making Specials and Correct Grades out of them .... Much harder to do for the Winchesters since they are all WWII vintage.
