1911 Duracoat job...

Post by 1985 4runner on Mon Jan 09, 2012 9:39 pm

Bought this nice Rock Island 1911 from a fellow forum member...

Decided I wanted to do something a little different & "make it mine", so to speak.

After a good scrubbing I took it over to Lt.Dan for an OD coat on the frame, a flat black slide & hardware & polished barrel. Added a set of matching black grips, and used white enamel to dot the sights for better visibility & this is her new look...

Lt.Dan and I went to the range Friday & I ran close to a hundred WWB through it without a hitch. I'm leaning towards making this my new carry piece... thumbs up

I can't say enough good things about Dan's work & that he's a great guy as well.

I second that. Lt. Dan did my xdm slide and my Tikka and I couldn't be happier.

Aww haha. Thanks guys. I do what I can with what I got. I think the grips on the 1911 are perfect.
