01[b]01/09.2012
I am asking opinions from members regarding the following!
Do you own a glock model 22, 17, or 19?
Purpose you purchased the weapon? what type of engagement? Fire once an a while/put 1000 rounds or better at range?
What is your general opinion of the Glock?
1911 45 cal - re: Colt mfg., Kilmer, Tauruss, Weber, Golden cup.
Same questions stated above.
Baretta M92 - same questions as above!
S&W pre 1990" model 70 -single action.
model 80 - double action after 1990's.
Input will be greatly appreciated and names will not be referred to.
Thank you!

I have a Gen 2 G-17 I purchased in 1993. I've used it in USPSA, IDPA and OutLaw Steel competitions. I also use it as a training gun in my classes. It has 175 thousand rounds through it.

I have a Colt 1991A1 in .45 ACP. I have put a coupl of thousand rounds through it. I love it! IT is accurate and pleasant to shoot. It was a Christams gift from my wife and mother-in-law, of course I picked it out.

Purpose you purchased the weapon? what type of engagement? Fire once an a while/put 1000 rounds or better at range? Purpose is to shoot - range guns. Probably put 1000+ through each since owning.
What is your general opinion of the Glock? Favorable
1911 45 cal - re: Colt mfg., Kilmer, Tauruss, Weber, Golden cup.
Same questions stated above. Own a Series 70 Colt Gold Cup and Springfield 1911A1. Again, range guns. The Colt probably has 10,000+ rounds ... the Springfield around 500 or so. Love both guns ....
Baretta M92 - same questions as above! Own a 92FS with interchangable barrel and slide for 40cal. Has crimson trace laser grips. Round count is 1000+ -- range gun. Favorable opinion.
S&W pre 1990" model 70 -single action. -- Do not own.
model 80 - double action after 1990's. -- Do not own.

Own now or have owned at least one of each of the first three. I tried two different times to like a Glock. They just don't feel right to me and I don't shoot them well.
Now own five 1911s, Kimber and Colt. I have owned many more of many brands and liked all of them and shot them well. Some shot better than others.
I traded a Berretta because it didn't fit my hands. I have small hands and really had to work at shooting it well but it was accurate.
My carry gun is an S&W M&P40. I shoot it better than anything else I own except maybe my Ruger MKII.

Glock 19 & 22 - both have 1K plus thruogh them. Great guns. Highly recommend.
Berretta 92 - Got it because that's what we changed to when I was in the Navy. Long site radius is a plus for me and having young family members that can pick the up mags around bases at pawn or gun shops. That's a plus. Few K through it. Wish I could carry it cocked and locked though.

Have Glock 22,23, and 35. Love them all they are essentially the same as the 17, 19, and 34 just in 40 instead of 9. Purchased these for personal defense because its a 40 and not a 9. I started with 1 glock and then sold all my others to consolidate to glocks. I sold my beretta 92 it always jammed. Never liked that gun. Never was as reliable as a glock. traded an XD for a glock and a styer for a glock. I have several thousand rounds through the 35 and maybe 1000 through the 23.

I'm Just a casual pistol shooter. I've never owned a Glock. I own a WWI 1911 and a MK IV Series 70 made in 1974, the first is a collectable, the other is my favorite pistol. My self defense pistol is my 1066 Smith because it's stainless and the Colt's are worth too much to abuse, however I shoot them better.

Got a 19 in my waistband right now. I like it because I know it is going to fire if I need it to, I shoot it pretty good, and it's lightweight for holding 16 rounds.

Currently have 6 Glocks. Put a couple 1000 rounds a year total through them. Use them for range guns and self defense.
I like Glocks. The only problem I've ever had with one is that my G36 won't feed Gold Dot's.
Currently have 5 1911's. Shoot less that a 1000 rounds total a year through them.
Never cared for the 92.
Don't have either of the last two.

Re: Asking for help & opinions for gun survey from members!
I bought a 19 this past summer. Good size for my hand and for concealing, seems dependable, and shoots well. There are plenty of accessories, holsters, parts, etc. available on the market. Easy breakdown for the "non-mechanically minded", like me. Carry on the belt, outside the waist band, concealed was my purpose for buying it. It is still new with fewer than 1K rounds through it. So far, thumbs up.
I have a Beretta 92FS. It was inherited, but I chose to keep it. I work for the military. My guard force carries it; being familiar with it could come in handy someday --- hope I never experience that situation! Good gun, a little large for my hand, but has a lot of safety features. Also, a good shooter. Easy breakdown. But, a little too big and heavy for concealed carry, although I have done it! That's why I bought the Glock this past summer.
