Palmetto Price Increase

Post by Michael A on Tue Jan 10, 2012 6:17 am

Has anyone noticed the price increase on the Palmetto State rifle kits? About 2 weeks ago i priced a 16" M4 kit with Magpul grip, stock, and handgards and the price was $544.00 shipped. Just went and looked at the same kits and the price went up $619.99 plus shipping. Couldn't believe it. I hope if they are gonna go up that much on the kits that they will atleast get a little quicker on their shipping. IDK

Looks like they are revamping their website.I don't remember the M4 MoE kit being 544 shipped. I'll have to look through my old emails to see if that was a Black Friday deal or something. Between the upper and lower, there is about a 50 dollar swing depending on if a component is on sale.

The shipping does kinda suck. Their business quadrupled in about a 3 month span about a year ago when they came out with their own uppers and lowers. They know that people aren't happy about the shipping times, but they're getting better. They told me and everyone else who ordered lowers that they wouldn't ship until mid or late Jan. I got mine yesterday.

Its still frustrating to wait. I'm about to hit month 7 waiting for my supressor.

In the Industry forum over on AR15.com, PSA stated that they are revamping their website today. They mention installing some bajillion-dollar inventory system along with the new website, and they hired a new IT guy too. I expect some price increases are necessary to pay for what we all hope lead to improved shipping times.

Still, a great product at a great price.

Mike,it was about 2-3 weeks ago i was looking around for a kit to go along with the Black Friday 49 dollar lower. Went to different sights to get prices and palmetto was the best price 529.00 plus 15.00 shipping. I didnt notice it being a sale price but it could have been. I thought that was a very good price for a chrome lined kit. Del-ton was the next best price but its not chrome lined. But thats the way my luck goes.

Yea mike, i checked and that kit now is 489.95. If it was me it would be fine but i have 2 boys a 12 year old and a 15 year old that i told we would build a ar like they like and they like the Magpul furniture. I figure it will belong to them one day along with my Colt SP1.
