Thinking about buying one of these tomorrow.

It's an American Classic II 1911. I am not sure if this is the one they call the Firestorm or not, didnt ask the guy at Academy. I have been looking at this gun since before Christmas and debating and think I am about to pull the trigger on it. Academy has it for $449. Standard pricing based on Web pricing. ANyone have any experience with these? Opinions? From what I have read, the reviews are about 50/50.

I have the plain version. They are made by Metroarms. I changed out some of the parts to Wilson (hammer, beavertail, safety). No complaints. Its just a basic 1911. Its one of my barn/truck guns.

Very good basic 1911. I don't think you will have any complaints.

Did you get it? I saw them at Academy today. They were busy so I didn't get to handle it.
