Jackson Gun Show this weekend, worth the trip?

Post by Feldspar on Thu Jan 12, 2012 1:11 pm

I went to the one last month, Great Southern Gun Shows I think, and it was a decent show. What can I expect at the show this weekend? Is it generally worth the price of admission?

Thanks!

Probably smaller...but how good it is depends on whether you find what you want at a price you like. It's always a crap shoot.

But I like to gamble, so I'll hit it early Saturday.

Speaking of selling a personal firearm at the show, I have a pistol or two I want to sell, is it OK for me to sell them there?

Yes, i prefer to do a bill of sale on ones that are in my name to protect myself down the road if the atf comes calling looking for the gun. That said, what are you trying to get rid of?

Thanks for the info. So as not to break the rules of the forum, I've sent you a PM on what I'm trying to sell.

Headed that way. Jonathan and I will be "civilians" at this one. We are not working.

usssaump, I'll look for you. I'll have on the standard issue MSGO shirt and will be palling around with a couple of ugly dudes. Hope to see the rest of y'all there too.

Prices were high, selection was low. No reloading stuff. Did not enjoy this one.

Don't waste your $7. Wasn't worth the gas and I only live 15 mins away. It was a tiny show, the aisles were completely packed, selection sucked and so did the prices.

My fiance's BIL was supposed to go with my brother and I, but backed out at the last minute, so when we left the show I text him and congratulated him on his decision. I told him he should have come and brought their 3 kids(7, 4 and 2) and released them, because apparently that's what everyone else did! Kids were running all over the place! Looked like a playground in there! I'm fine with bringing your kids, but if you can't control them then you need to beat them, get a harness, or leave them at home. With all those exposed blades and pretty expensive guns laying around they need to be under control 100% of the time.

The adults weren't much better either. Can't count how many people were just standing there in a group in the middle of the aisle, and about the time we'd finally get around them we'd either run into another group or the previous group would have migrated back in front of us. I'm all for socializing at these things but if it's that crowded then have some common courtesy and move or make yourself as small as possible! I was disgusted by the lack of decency I'm starting to see more and more at these things.

This one left a bad taste in my mouth if you can't tell.
