Post by captain-03 on Thu Jan 12, 2012 10:32 pm

OK -- ya'll help me out here ... I need a trust set-up for the purchase of a couple Class III items. Who would you recommend? Please just PM me with your suggestions/details if you would rather do it that way ...

Thanks

Is this different from a trust for NFA items? 2ALawyer did my NFA trust.

I went with LEO sign off. It's pretty easy in my county. I just walk in and chit chat with the sheriff as he signs my form 4. Although I do see the benefits of having a trust.

Yep. After 7 months of waiting they sent a letter back and said I had to file the trust with the courthouse and send them proof of that. Two weeks later they sent my stamp.

Yea. I heard that they cant make you do that but if thats what it took, oh well. I will definately try again without that step. They just seem to make there own rules as they go.

If a trust is used for long term asset protection, I would be careful with anything printed off the internet or given by a friend. We receive trusts all the time that have serious legal flaws, but meet ATF standards. There are lawyers in the state who make a successful living off of fixing problems caused by legal zoom or friends practicing law.
