Glock 30sf or xdm3.8 compact 45?
Torn between which one to buy. I have held them both and they both feel great. Can't decide if the xdm is worth a $100 more than the Glock though..Wish I had the cash to buy both. Descions descions..

By 3.8 compact do you mean the actual compact model, or just the 3.8 with full size grip? Because at first SA called that the Compact. And now they have released a true Compact model with 3.8" slide and shorter grip. I only ask because so many people still call what has now become the xdm3.8, the compact.
I know they just released the true compact .45, so it may be interesting trying to find one right off the bat.
I have a g26 and a xdm 4.5" .40s&w, i know not exactly what youre asking about.
For me, I have smaller hands, so the XDm's typically fit my hand better. However, I'm a MUCH better shot with the Glock.
Everyone I've ever let try my XDm has fallen in love with it, but everyone who I've let shoot my g26 has been more accurate with it than any other pistol, but they all complain about the ergos of the glock compared to the XDm.
The XDm trigger seems to be a good bit lighter but it's mushy getting there, whereas the Glock has a heavier trigger but it breaks cleaner.
You get a lot with the XDm, which is nice if you'll be happy with what is included. I was for a little while then I realized how truly impractical the paddle holster was, especially since I attached a light to mine, so I wound up buying a Raven Concealment rig for the gun with light, and a double mag carrier.
Both will hold their value exceptionally well, but the XDm hasn't been around nearly as long as the Glock, so who knows how long it's value will stay high.
If you can try both and see which shoots better. I thought there was an indoor range down there that did rentals?
Only thing I like better about the XDm is the grip safety, outside of that I'd say they're about too close to call.

I have a Glock 30SF and all I can say is there's something special about the way it was engineered. It's a little too heavy for CCW, but it's a real joy to shoot. Recoil is almost nonexistent and accuracy is exceptional. In a smaller caliber, I'd say buy what looks the best to you, but in the .45, I'd suggest you try to shoot both before making a decision. I can't imagine any other .45, especially in a compact frame, shooting any nicer than the 30SF. It really is a joy to take to the range.

With a name like jglocke, is this a serious question?
j/k
I absolutely LOVED my XDm 40 4.5". My favorite semi auto to date. Cousin has a full size Glock in 40 as well. Im not a fan but he loves it.
I will admit the 36 points well for me. No other Glock has done that

Skip the glock 30 and get the 36 if you plan to carry. It is one sweet shooting gun. I have an xdm 45 and the trigger is my only complaint. I will eventually spend the money on a trigger job due to the sentimental value.

Never handled or shot a G30 but I love my G36. With the magazine extension it's a 7+1.

I've shot a Glock and my XDs. XD all the way. I'm a MUCH better shot with the XD over the Glock.
