CZ82 Refinish.....no turning back now

Post by miker84 on Sun Jan 15, 2012 12:06 pm

Got her stripped down.....all the way. Sure hope I can put it back together. Not sure what kind of finish I'll go with, but I'm leaning toward a two-tone black/stainless with wood grips. Then again, I may just go all black. After seeing it like this, maybe all stainless with black grips? So many options.

I vote 2 tone with the wood grips.

Do the same finish we did on the 66 with dark wood grips. Tape it off from the inside before blasting.

I agree with bubbat and dhollis51. That 2-tone with wood grips looks nice.

Wish it was mine, it's a buddy's wife's car gun. He sent off to somewhere in Tenn and had it done like that.

Bubba-T and D-51, you both shot my CZ-82s (at the same time).... Smile DAMN, that fancy CZ-82 looks GOOD. I bet the refinish work cost more than the gun............... But it looks great.

Some good looking 82s there! What did you use to strip the finish with?

Glass beads. It was slow, but I didn't want to mess up the surface, especially not knowing what might have been under the original coating.
