The Guns America review sounds great... what are your thoughts?

I like it as a CCW. I don't have a need for one yet, but that would probably be my choice since I've already got two XD Tacticals and love them.

I love my 4.5" XDm40, but I have no use for that. A semi-auto with a 5+1 capacity isn't something I'm interested in. I'll stick with my g26 for a pocket semi and be able to carry way more rounds.

Need idea though for the folks who just have to have a .45. Lord knows I'm a huge .45acp fan but I've come to the point in my life where I'd rather have capacity over a cannon. I still carry my 1911s almost daily, but there's a bit of a difference between 8+1 and 5+1.

If it is strictly used for backup then I can see it being a great idea, but as a primary carry piece....no thanks.

It looks like Springfield is taking notes from GLOCK. They rolled out with their model 36 single stack 45 not too long ago. I guess it's nice for the folks who prefer the XD. They'll probably sell a ton of them.

I don't understand the author wanting a double action trigger like a revolver? It's got a grip and trigger safety.....butch up

Did anyone else read that whole review and all the comments about the "first engineered .45 subcompact" and wonder how the author overlooked the Kahr P45 and PM45?

I've waited for this in 45 but now that I see it, I'm not sure I want one. I'll have to hold one first. Just can't see halving my ammo capacity to have a slightly smaller frame from my compact XD.

...and if I'm limited to 5 rounds, I'd just as soon carry my s and w j frame.

Glock introduced the 36 in 2000, I have had mine since 2001 thumbs up

I didn’t realize that the 36 had been out that long. How the years do fly by.

If the author wants a double action feel to the trigger he could have gone with the 36 and installed a NY1 trigger spring and a reduced trigger bar. I’m not sure if that’s possible with an XD. The XD triggers do feel a little better from the factory with the exception of the long reset. The Glock on the other hand offers more options.
