You can easily replace the fiber. If you order from Dawson precision they send red and green fiber with the sight so you can decide on what you prefer.

Re: S&W 686 SSR
I go back and forth on color between green and red and am in fact currently sight blacking the fiber and shooting all black sights (again).
I've tried a bunch of other colors, but none worked as well for me as green and red, depending on the day and background. Although the sight will come with plenty to last for a while, you can get replacement rod much more cheaply by buying bulk rather than from the sight manufacturers. I am not 100% sure this is where I ordered from in the past, but I think it is: http://www.fiberopticproducts.com/Archery.htm
$4.25 per meter plus shipping (for the size I use anyway) isn't a bad price although somewhere else may be even cheaper.

I thought about just getting some neon green Testors paint and painting the front sight. Though that's kind of a halfass solution.

Hmm unsure of what sight I need from Dawson. .230 .250 or .300
I usually don't mess with my sights but I hate the factory one.

Measure what's on yours now if it hits poa/poi. If its not right Dawson is good about working with you to get the height you need.

Re: S&W 686 SSR
The release for me makes it easier to push than the stock ones and the grip was originally made for shooting prone but, it gives my left hand something to lock onto.

Looks like the stock 686SSR sight is .250 in height.

I suck at shooting groups lol. I don't have much patience at sitting down, holding on target and trying to be super accurate. I'm gonna try my best this weekend to see exactly where it's shooting though.
Looks like www.4wheelguns.com has some N Frame rubber finger groove big butt grips.
