I've shot in matches with Matthew Mink in MS, AR, GA, LA, and RO'ed Mink at 2010 National Handgun Championship in Las Vegas. Great guy with a good personality and watching his logic in dissecting a stage and the speed in which he shoots A's really fast using proper setup coming into a target and leaving, are phenominal at best. I have been signed up for this class for quite some time since Cliff first mentioned it to me. This is definitely a class worth taking. I took Rodney May's class in September 2009 and fired 743 rounds in one day for $300, and when I learned this class might be offered a few months ago, I didn't hesitate to jump on this two day class with a World Class Shooter for $450 and 1,000 rounds. You don't get access to world class shooting instruction like Mink at your home range very often.

When the 15 slots are filled, I would suggest we put people on a waiting list because someone will have a schedule conflict at the last moment or an unforeseen emergency. That way we can make sure everyone who wants, can attend and participate. I've seen this happen in too many classes and I feel like we should do all we can to ensure the 15 slots are filled when the date gets here, considering Mink's travel expenses to provide us with world class training.

Class is 9a-6p on Saturday with one hour break for lunch. 8a-4p on Sunday with one hour break for lunch. Mink said a minimum of 1,000 rounds. Cliff & I plan to bring 1,500 just in case. Mink will have 147 gr 9mm ammo available for sale from a manufacturer that sponsors him in the event anyone needs additional or just doesn't want to reload that many per my conversation with Cliff today.

Major Kudo's to Cliff for setting up this weekend course with Matt Mink.

Cliff worked his tail off to arrange this with very little sleep and it was great. Matt is a terrific teacher and helped every shooter to improve and feel good about their shooting at the same time. Cliff instructed and reinforced and made the whole thing work beautifully.

Jim Lowman was great as usual and even took part of a bullet for the team. Do we give Purple Hearts at Magnolia?

Lots of lessons learned such as being aggressive with moves, pushing yourself a little, match pointers about the timer and drawing and the main lesson to NEVER stand behind Golfer when he's in the chute.

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend.
