My personal rifle build

Post by mrparamedicdawson on Thu Jan 19, 2012 7:15 pm

Well, I've been busy recently building stuff for other folks, but now I'm able to start putting my rifle together. I'm using a Sako 579 action that I found at a local dealer that was still in the oil paper. I was then able to find a curly maple 98% stock on eBay of all things. I'm now waiting on the barrel which is a Douglas Premium in 6mm-br.[img][/img][img][/img]

I really like the stock, it is fine. What will the rifle be used for?

Should be fine, tung oil brings out the character in it

That is going to be one fine stick! I usually don't like a wood stock but man that tiger stripping on it looks awesome.

I have used a product called Maple Majic. It will really make the stripes stand out.

Looks dang good right now.

Be sure to post "after" pictures of that gun. I can't wait to see the completed stock.
