Armed Standoff just down the road-It's Over!!

If anyone has seen the news tonight about this Madison County standoff, it's about a 1/4 mile down my road. Just got home, route A & B were roadblocked. Luckily got through on rout "C". Started early afternoon. I was at work when MrBull sent me a text. Wife was home and knew nothing about it. Pretty scary. There's a little hill between us so we can't see anything, but you can hear them talking to the guy on their loudspeakers from my front porch. Must be a ton of LEO's there, including ATF, since it's reported he has explosives.

Apparently started as a dispute with a neighbor...long-standing feud or something. If it's the house I think it is, it a newer one made of concrete block. A real bunker.

You could break out the arsenal and provide cover fire for them.

I might have them matched arm-for-arm...but I bet they could kick my butt in rate of fire. Where's SubGun when I need him?

You could probably out shoot most of them. Rate of fire don't matter if you're not hitting anything. I think it was Jordan that said "You can never miss fast enough to win a gunfight" or something like that.

There's thought...or that dude on the coast with the artillery rounds. No wait, he's in hospital.

Could be worse, at least I'm home. Back in '81 I was in Tulsa for a convention or trade show and headed back to the motel after dinner. Cops had the whole motel locked down. Some guy was barricaded in a room with a hostage. Didn't get in until 2 or 3 in the morning. Now THAT sucked.

I try not to think about.

Pity I don't have some of that tacticool mall ninja garb and one of those nifty concealed carry badges. I could probably stroll right up for a looksee and no one would notice.

Yeah, this ain't funny anymore. How do you escape when you're surrounded by dozens of LEO's? Thought that crap only happened in movies. Gonna hang here for awhile, wife's understandably nervous. Funny thing, cops haven't even been by checking on us.

There are times it's nice to have a bunch of rescued dogs...at least we'll know he's coming. Gotta go distribute the arsenal.

The news said they are still looking for that guy.......
