Anyone shoot the remington spartan single shot?

Got a friend with one im thinkin about buying. Its a single shot hammerless 30-06 that i think would make a good loaner rifle if someone comes hunting that doesnt have a rifle to use.

Anyone got one?

Well i thought it was, its marked sp100... may be same thing. Both are russian made i do believe... this one is.

Edit... Just found a website saying it is... the sp in the sp100 stands for spartan.

Aren't Spartans just the old Baikal line that Remington bought the import rights to and immediately marked up about 80-100%?

Pretty much. I dont know what, if any changes were made. mine has both remington and baikal on it. Seems to be a very well made gun to be so cheap, i only paid $50 for mine. Fit and finish on the metal was good, better than my h&r handi rifle that i paid much more for.
