What should I buy?!?
Ok I almost have the money saved up just a few more weeks and I'm ready to buy my FIRST AR
I have a 1000$ budget This needs to include
Good NV capable red dot (vortex strike fire) 150$ish
Ms3 sling and mount 80$ish
Couple extra mags 30$ish
So that leaves around
650-700$ for the gun
It will be used for
Plinking steel
HD
Killing coyotes out to 200yds
I like the palmetto stuff but there always out of stock but I may wait
Suggestions please!!!!
Thanks

Re: What should I buy?!?
I just built my second one but my first one was the cheap rout. Bought a $125 plumcrazy lower, and a $359 Palmetto upper so after all the shipping and taxes and rear sight I paid $540 for my 16" M4 carbine. I plan to use it to shoot paper and yotes after deer season. Then I bought 2 stripped lowers and just built from scratch my 1st complete lower.
I like my Palmetto upper also. And bought my mags from http://dsgarms.com/ProductInfo/MA-02DSGB10A.aspx when they were on sale and they have treated me right.

I think this is the one I bought but not sure, I would have to check the reciept to be sure.

I have no clue when it comes to AR's this is my 1st and 2nd one. It was fun to build the complete lower though.

This is the one I got:
http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ar-15-05/complete-uppers/palmetto-state-armory-16-mid-length-lightweight-mp-upper.html
A lightweight mid-length 16" upper. My first AR build, but it's exactly what I wanted. Mid-length gas system for a softer impulse recoil and longer sight radius, while still a short and handy barrel size for maneuverability. Chrome-lined bore and chamber, 1:7 twist rifling, etc. The "so you want to buy an AR" thread tacked above had a bunch of things to look for, and this one seemed to me to match up best with everything and with the mid-length setup I wanted. I haven't been able to shoot it much, but I'm very satisfied so far with it.
Good luck!

I believe so, just a few dozen mags and a rear sight.
Oh yea, lots of ammo.

Looks like it, unless you want a rear iron sight to back up your red dot. Or a sling. Enjoy!!

I may have missed it, but I don't see a trigger kit in the list. Doesn't appear to be one in the lower parts kit listed.

It says "everything you need"
But it doesn't say "trigger"

Normally an A2 stock, buffer spring and buffer runs around $60 alone. Like dhollis51 says, I would call to see if it does.
But I'm betting it doesn't.

Includes Mil-Spec M4 Stock, A2 Pistol grip, Palmetto State Armory Classic Lower Parts Kit and Mil-Spec buffer tube assembly. Everything you need to finish your stripped lower.

Lower parts kit Usually includes a trigger unless it notes otherwise.
I'd go the PSA route as well.
Don't buy too cheap. I bought a $700 DPMS Oracle a couple years ago, and it's been a great rifle, with the exception of accuracy. It's lucky to have a 5" group at 25yds off a bench. I'll rebarrel it later down the road probably. Now you can get a Colt sp6920 for about $1k on gunbroker! Much better gun for not a lot more $.
Buy a quality rifle or parts for one and build from there. There is no sense in settling for a cheap lower quality rifle just so you can buy all the tacticool junk at the same time. Save up and buy a good base rifle to customize to your specs, then save up and buy good accessories. If there is one thing Guns have reaffirmed in my brain it's "you get what you pay for!!!"
PSA guns get compared to Colt and other milspec makers a lot lately and are developing quite a following, so I'd say you're getting a good gun for a fair price with them.

Re: What should I buy?!?
While their lowers are that high I would try and find one local. I know you can get one out the door in Hamilton for about 84 bucks. By the time you spend that 80 and pay a 25 dollar tranfer fee you are gonna have a fairly expensive lower. I don't know the shops around Philadelphia but you should be able to beat that price on a stripped lower, they are all basically the same just have different stuff on the side.
