I have one in the 270 win with the thumbhole stock and had trigger job done on it 2 1/2 to 3 lb break. The FlexTech stock really works. It's my favorite deer rifle.

I just got a SS Pro Hunter in 45/70. I like it a lot. Even in that caliber, recoil is not bad at all.
I'll be buying a .308 barrel for it this summer and will be set for next year. Smile

I don't have a pro hunter, but I do have 2 Encores and a G2. 30.06, 358 Win and 35 Remington. If you have accuracy problems or questions I'll save you alot of time. Go to Bellm.com. This guy is a certified Encore guru. All of Mine shoot sub MOA thanks in most part to his ideas and products.

I have one in 300 win mag. its a great little gun, although it had a pretty tough recoil, I added a brake now its my go to if I think I will shoot any kind of distance. My dad and several hunting buddies have them in 35 whelen, they all love theirs. In reality that is probably the best way to go then you can use it all season. Dad reloads for all of them with 225 grain smk, 3 shot groups are routinely touching. Range isn't an issue either dad got one at 245 yards last year.

+1 on Mike Bellum anything you want to know about T/C. My next barrel for my Pro Hunter will be a Bergara barrel which Bellum likes.

I've got one in .35. I like it well enough that I killed both my deer with it.

Check out Hwy. 90 Pawn in Gautier. They have some good prices. They beat Dads Super Pawn prices most of the time.

Bought mine at Dad's 2 years back. i bought it as a 50 cal ML for under $750. Going to buy a 35 whelen and the 300 wm for it when I get around to it. The ML shoots sub moa @ 100.
