Our Walmart has American Eagle for 5.95 per box and Tula for $4.97 per box. That is $.31 per round for American Eagle and $.26 per round for Tula. Tax included.

If it's the Federal American Eagle it's GTG. I've been through about 1500 rounds of it. LC cases.

No wonder I didn't see them, I usually look for ammo in the ammo case, not the gun case. lol

It's XM855, 420 rds to a can. 62 gr w/ penetrator.$149+tax, at least in Clinton. It would actually be cheaper to buy it online and pay shipping, Palmetto State has it in the can for $139.

WMart in McComb has it also. With tax = $159, so $6 more than Palmetto State.
And for y´all in the H´burg area: I showed Gander Mountain my WMart receipt last month & they dropped the price from $220 to $149 to make the sale.

You may not be thanking me in a few days... I ordered some Federal XM193 from PSA on Sunday because it was the best deal I could find for brass cased 5.56, and here it is Thurs night and I still haven't gotten so much as a shipping notification. I got a PSA upper from them shortly after Christmas, and was OK with slow shipping seeing as how they were swamped with Christmas orders then, but I kind of expected ammo and mags in late January to get shipped in 1-2 days. I'm glad I didn't need them this weekend for anything.

Kinda disappointed this go-round with them. It might would have been worth the extra 6 bucks or so to buy that ammo locally at Wal-Mart if you needed it in any kind of a hurry. :-/

... and if you pay cash locally there's no electronic record of you purchasing quantities of ammunition...not paranoid or anything, jus' sayin' ... roll eyes

Kinda off-topic, but you're damned if you do and damned if you don't. Walmart has security cameras at all the registers, so yup, you're on camera buying a can of ammo.

Combine that with my newfound knowledge that there is some kind of license tag-reading camera or laser or something on the interstate, and we pretty much live in a surveillance state any way you cut it. All in the name of "Homeland Security".

Sorry for the off-topic thread drift.

Well, I commented last night on the apparent lack of timely shipping from Palmetto State, but this morning I got a shipping notification email, and this afternoon my package had arrived!

So in light of that, I'd say the delay isn't as bad as I had feared. Order with confidence. thumbs up

With the draw down in Iraq et al look for more hitting the market. The can I got at Gander has a wire & metal seal on it; the seal reads "US LC". The WMart cans don't have this seal. Who knows if it's real. McComb WM is restocking as they sell, so it seems to be a steady supply.
