USPSA Detailed Scoring Question
Hey Fellas,
I was wondering when they update the site with the most recent match scores. I see where to look for the overall match scores and they show up fine but under the detailed scoring tab my most recent match qualifier is not posted. Just wondering if they haven't updated it to reflect this months match or what.
Thanks in advance!

Re: USPSA Detailed Scoring Question
Magnolia for one reason or another (Bryant may know) is a month behind in updating classifiers. Although, sometimes they come up that month, seems to be kind of a crap shoot. USPSA generally updates on the 15th of the month unless it falls on a weekend or something. This month they updated on the 13th. In the rule book i think it says they update between the 10th and 15th of the month (page iii in the front of the rule book), but more often than not it's the 15th.

Re: USPSA Detailed Scoring Question
Your classifier score will yes. If you are immediately curious about how you did on a classifier though, go pull your hit factor from the online scores for the classifier and plug it into Classifiercalc. I keep a link to it on my phone and figure my classifiers as soon as I shoot them.

Re: USPSA Detailed Scoring Question
Most of the time this is my fault. Uploading scores to USPSA is a two step process. First I upload the raw scores immediately after the match. At that point everyone can look over them and see how they did.
Next you have to upload a special classifier report file and make the payment for fees. I used to do that immediately after the match as well but I kept running into problems where someone would be looking at the scores online the next week and notice an error on their score/time. Example, they ran the classifier in 11.23 seconds but the RO running the clipboard had sloppy handwriting and it looked like 17.23. I keep the score sheets for a week or so and if I am able to confirm that there was indeed an error I'll make the correction.
If I can catch these before the classifier file gets uploaded to USPSA it's no problem. If I don't catch it until afterwards, it's a major pain to get the score corrected for that shooter, so I wait... and then sometimes I wait too long. I didn't get it done the next weekend after the match so I did it last week but I must have missed the cut off. I'll try to do a better job of staying on top of it.

Lol, well John I tried to pass the buck to USPSA, but regardless we appreciate what you do on a weekly/monthly basis to keep our USPSA program running.

Re: USPSA Detailed Scoring Question
Meh, don't get me wrong, USPSA does make it a little difficult with their floating update window, but when it's me it's me. I thought I had January in on time and I'll have to check when I get home but yah, it was most likely me.

Re: USPSA Detailed Scoring Question
Like I was saying earlier, I ALWAYS get the scores posted on time because I'm good like that and you guys should know better than to question me.
I just checked my home e-mail account and I have a confirmation from USPSA that they received the classifier file on 1/12/2012. I have the receipt for it that lists it as transaction number 19799. I also checked the USPSA site for unpaid classifiers thinking maybe our credit card didn't process but we're not listed there either.
Finally, I got a confirmation e-mail from USPSA the other day that actually contains a listing of everyone who shot and what their scores were that were "entered in the database".
Looks like for once it was someone else's screw up. I'll happily call USPSA tomorrow and see if I can figure out what happened.

Date: 01/01/2012 Club Code: MS06
Club: MAGNOLIA PRACTICAL SHOOTERS
Version: 4.08 Your EzWinScore program is current.
EzWinScore 4.07 Maintenance release is NOW available.
This email was automatically generated by the classifier processing system. You are receiving this email because you uploaded a classifier file through the USPSA classifier upload system.
This report shows you what scores were entered into the classifier database, and any corrections that were made to the data you submitted. Please make sure you correct your EzWinScore master database as indicated by the error messages.
If you find a mistake in a member's division or hit factor, please go to the USPSA Web Site's Club Support page to submit a Classifier Correction request.
Because correctly spelled names are essential to this process, this report will alert you when you have spelled a member's name differently from what is in the USPSA member database. We operate on the assumption that we have spelled a member's name correctly, or at least as best we can decipher from handwritten applications. Therefore, if USPSA has entered a person's name incorrectly, please ask that person to contact us with the correct spelling. Some common mistakes we see are that a person's name was entered backward, i.e. last name in first name field, or a woman has gotten married and has a new last name.
The message "USPSA number was wrong" means you entered that person's number incorrectly. THE NUMBER SHOWN HERE IS CORRECT. Please update your database with this information. You don't need to submit a correction request if the note states the name is misspelled or number is incorrect. If you don't know a person's member number, please don't guess or invent a fake number.
If your report has the phrase "Person not found, score not entered.", the program attempted to find a match in the USPSA membership database for the information you supplied and could not. The program tries to match the first letter of the competitor's first name and first TWO letters of the competitor's last name. You do need to submit a correction request for these scores to be entered.
