Some Bipod advice needed thanks

Post by 45flattop on Tue Jan 24, 2012 11:42 pm

I have a front rest for F-Class 22lr but am also considering a bipod and for now at least
have settled on a Harris with the swiveling option and a Pod Loc kit to stabilize it but
what I'd like to know from anyone with experience is what height range you'd recommend
since it will be first off used shooting prone but may also need to go on the bench at times.
They come in a variety and without prior experience I'm in the dark, any assistance will be
quite welcome, thanks in advance.

I like the 6-9" model, although I have no direct experience with Harris. I like to get as close to the Earth as I can when shooting prone. For the bench, the 6-9" should serve perfectly! I believe they even call it the bench model.

Thanks for the adv ice, JBP, since I am roughly the same size as my cousin suberjc,
and might have issues getting low enough behind the rifle to get that low, do you
think the next height up might work a tad better? Oh and I forgot to mention that
I'm thinking of the model with the leg notches as easier to adjust consistently at
whatever height I need.

Try the next model up from the BR (6"-9"). I think it is the "L" model, it adjusts from 9"to 13". That is what I use. I have the BR model but I find it is just a little too low to be comfortable.

I think you will like it better.

It does not have notches, but in infinitely adjustable. I've never had a problem with it slipping.

If you can get together with someone who has one of them, try it. That's always the best way!

The Sinclair is the best I have used, once I learned how to use it.

Definitely worth my money! I've also never seen a used one for sale!

Neck, would you advise the Tactical Sinclair or the F-Class model, either way you're going
to be the death of my wallet at this rate!! Funny

Not Neck, but I prefer the F-Class model for the .22's. I like the Sinclair for the big guns because I can control the recoil better. It would be better practice for me to use the Tactical with my .22 though.

Flattop, thanks for asking this question!

I've got a bunch of bi-pods, mostly harris, but they'll never compare to the Sinclair's. Holy Cow Batman! I now know what my next Bipod purchase will be.

'neck & jpb, thanks for the info. I was thinking about F/classing that new 7mag if'n I can get it to shoot. With the new HDMR GAP scope it's about 16 lbs. Don't get me wrong, the harris holds it, but the adjustability on those heavy sinclairs is the beez kneez.

THanks,
Breeze

I took several posters advice this afternoon when I saw the Sinclair
Tactical BiPod was in stock for a change and pulled the trigger and
ordered one, when I considered the add-ons such as the PodLoc
and the various feet available and the cost of such of those that
I might want to add, the total cost to me was not that much more
since the Sinclair Tactical seems to have everything I'd want built in.
In addition between me and a cousin here on the forum I have a
boatload of other Sinclair manufactured products that are uniformly
so well made and of quality materials that I know this one will be good. Now if my !@#$%^&* Scope would only come in my 10/22
could finally be finished!! lol

You won't be disappointed!

And, if you don't like it, you can get most of your money back pretty quickly!

I'm pretty sure that I neither will be disappointed or less than satisfied in the least.
I have a boatload of other Sinclair products of their manufacture that are simply jewels
of their type. Talk about fast, I ordered it about 2pm today and its already shipped. I
think I jumped on it in time before I had to wait on a back order of indeterminate time.
Not at all worried about trying to recover my costs, just anxious to get my custom 10/22
built so I can get out to Magnolia and shoot the darn thing finally, the the ammo testing
and evaluations can beging along with the barrel break in.

Interestingly enough, I note that its shipped not from Indiana but from the same origin
point as stuff I've bought from Brownells, Iowa. I suppose perhaps the two entities, being part
of one corporation now, may use a shared warehousing arrangement, either way to order
something in the afternoon and its out the door on its way to you that same night, is
great service.

Dang Breeze lol , I hadn't remembered that promo code, wish I had for sure, 10% off
would have saved me a lot I could have spent on an ammunition sampling to test
my new rifle to see what it likes best, but I fear it'll love Lapua Midas+ or Eley Tenex,
oh well, with what I've spent on this thing so far I shouldn't expect this to come off
on the el cheapo side!!!
