NRA action pistol

Post by Beladran on Wed Jan 25, 2012 8:35 am

Well guys it's getting that time of the year again. AP program at southwest is about to get kicked off in march.

I would really like to start seeing a little bigger turn out this year. With 3000 members on here what is keeping you from shooting a few matches a year with us? I know distance can be a issue but other than that I would like to hear some thoughts.

One that I hear most often is they watch these guys running an gun n on tv an think they need to be in perfect health an have $5000 guns. Not so with AP. AP to me is a blend off bullseye with icore. We have had shooters show up with guns ranging from Russian mil surp, Taurus, glock, bone stock 1911gi, all the way to full customs. Basically if you can hit a 5 gallon bucket at 50 yards then you are good. Heck bring your family with you. You can shoot 22's with us or can use one of my 38's

I would like to come give Action Pistol an try, but there's always so much going on at our home club.

We have:

USPSA

OutLaw Steel

ICORE

Clash of Metal

Also matches in Pearlington, Poplarville, Thibodaux, Amite, Gonzales along with the big matches some of us shoot it makes it hard to get down there.

How many folks are showing up for matches there?

I've been meaning to come give it a try and expand my accuracy game a little. When the match schedule gets posted I'll have a better idea of when I can make a match. Like cliff said, uspsa keeps us pretty busy.

Our matches are the third sat of every month. We have the same 5-8 shooters showing up..
I bet if you can find time to include AP in your comp shooting diet your gonna start adding more alpha's to you score

Saturday's huh? I'll be making a point to make the trip then. Uspsa is generally a Sunday sport.

I think you will enjoy it. You just gotta remember there is no extra points for finishing fast an don't shoot more times than your supposed to

I'd like to come give it a try as well...
My accuracy past USPSA distance could use some work!
