Decided on 300 Blackout

Post by 14ReelFun on Wed Jan 25, 2012 7:25 pm

I've decided to get the whole gun instead of using my AR lower so I want have to switch back and forth plus I can use the can on both. I'm gonna go with the DPR suppressor but don't know which manufacturer to purchase gun from. I've looked and cmmg but never had any dealings with them. Any suggestion's on rifle manufacturer or best place to buy one?

If you aren't in a hurry, Sig, Rock River Arms, Bushmaster, and several other companies are going to be making 300 blackout ARs in the very near future.

We can get Sig to custom make the Swat SBR in 300 blackout, but they should be open to any dealers soon.

License for?

I've about decided to do a 300 SBR with one of my 2 remaining PSA stripped lowers I got on the Black Friday sale they had, but we'll see. If I do it I'm going to have to build it from scratch probably because I've got some specific things I want, so the price is gonna go up quick.

The best way to check the status by checking your bank account or the money order to see when it was cashed and projecting six months. If you call and check the status with the examiner frequently, you are assured to be delayed. We have several transactions that are going on 6s months and those three customers have been calling since the week after their check was cashed.

We have received two back in 60 days from new NFA customers who don't call weekly to check the status.

ok I started the wait in december and as soon as DPR has a 30 cal can for me I'm gonna start it up again. Then during that wait I will get a 300 blackout. I called around to a few places and everyone is out. DSarms said end of febuary before they have complete uppers again. I thinking of going with them. They will make it with 16 in barrel threaded low profile gas block and flattop upper. That seems to me to be a good set up. Then gonna top it with a vortex SPARC and have a 3x magnifier for a little more precision.

miker84, you can call us all you want as long as you don't call our examiner. We had a customer call us and state they had an hour long conversation with the examiner and how he seemed like a great guy and he couldn't wait to receive his pending items. As he talked, the backlog grew.

Well finally tracked down my check it was cashed on January 3rd. So I'm thinking July 3rd. How sweet will that be to get it around July 4th. I'd say I'll go shoot the hell out of it but really nobody will hear it so I'll probably shoot it and some of my louder items.

Why does it take so long? Is there that many applications being sent in? Seems like it wouldn't take more the a few days to do whatever background checks they need and then approve or disapprove the app and send it out.

Here's what I've read and heard from people who I trust.....
There are only a few examiners and they have to handle all the forms. Certain examiners were assigned to certain applicant name ranges (Examiner "A" processed names A-D. etc), but then they assigned them to certain states (causing forms to be reassigned), then they sorted them a different way after that. All of that took place in the past 6 months or so. A lot of forms got pushed to the back or stuck in limbo because the new examiner works in a different way than the old one. Some examiners will look to see if you have multiple forms pending and then issue them all at once. Others just go through the stack from top to bottom. I believe there are also more forms being sent in as more people realize that owning a silencer or SBR isn't "illegal".

Any of us who deal with lean manufacturing could go in there and cut the time in half, but we are talking about a federal agency, so that is the last thing they want. I'm certain that my association with 2A Attorney and the F&F thing probably doesn't help my form move through.
lol

I was gonna tell you that mstrophyhunter listed a 300 blkout for sale here today but see you ordered the upper already, too bad they might have made ya a package deal on it and the supressor. Maybe or maybe not. DPR are good people too bad they have real jobs and cant do the gun thing full time.
