Proper Pics of my new-to-me DW
Wife found the camera... probably right where I left it. So some proper pics of my new-to-me Dan Wesson Palmer Fixed Barrel

Note the recessed cylinder, not all my Dans are like that

Note: Cross-hatched hammer spur. Not a common detail.

What really makes this stand out. Most DW have an interchangeable barrel. But during the second gen of DW (Palmer plant) they decided to try selling the gun with a fixed barrel like conventional revolvers.

Nice! Not quite as much as your others, but it does look clean and they're outstanding. Do you suppose someone cut the cylinder down to use moon clips with 9mm, because that does seem a little odd. Let us know how she shoots for you.

While this gun is not a great example of a collectible condition gun, this will not be much of a shooter, but will just be set aside for while. DW's were made in three plants, most were made in Monson, a few at Palmer, and some at Norwich. Of these three plants only the Palmer plant made fixed barrel DW's, and only a fraction of total production. So as much as DW's are themselves rare, these are that much more rare in the DW realm. Given all this the potential for return on this purchase precludes this being much of a shooter.

Hmmmm.
I thought High Standard made the first Dan Wesson revolvers in their New Haven, CT. plant before the old Monson schoolhouse was used to produce the model 14.
I have one of those early Monson model 14's with no adjustable rear sight.
It is one of the few Revolvers I refuse to part with.

Joe...
The grips are from another 15-2. It came with the Houge, and I was told that all of them came that way ( stock). But rubber grips cause rust, so I store them with the wood.
This gun is very tight/stiff but shoots very comparably to my others which are all Monson. Of course all the Monsons excect one have been smoothed a tich my yours truley.
