could be loud enough, If you went with jbl you could get much louder with the same or smaller amp. They take less power to reach the same volume.

I have liked L7s. I personally usually put very close to max RMS watts to my speakers, so I would probably run an amp rated at 1500W RMS @ 2 ohms (4 ohm speakers) with a capacitor or upgraded or rewound alternator. Should hit really hard in that tiny cab.

A capacitor is the car audio equivalent of snake oil, it does nothing but take money out of the buyers pocket. Thats probably the highest profit margin car audio componet there is.

I have never run one personally, but I never had a problem with lights dimming. It has also been 5 years since I did a system. So what are people doing, upgraded alternators?

Better alternators and batteries, along with upgraded wiring. I usually would recommend upgrading the wiring first.... Alt to battery and grounds etc. Not sure whats state of the art really though, ive been out of the field for about 5 years.
