Did you know that Dukes Of Hazard was a spin off from the movie "Moonrunners" with James Mitchum, Robert Mitchums son? Pretty good movie, old but good.

My wife's family is friends with Tom Wopats family. He married a girl from Dayton, wife's hometown. Small town, they divorced, he has two sons who still lives their with his wife in Dayton. My niece and nephew go to school with the kids and when Wopat comes to visit his kids, sometimes he and they get together with one or two of my BIL's.

Trivia question. Without googling. What was Boss Hoggs first and middle name?

Jefferson Davis Hogg.

In the "Moonrunners" the "Dukes" were Uncle Jesse,Grady and Bobby Lee Hagg and Boss Hogg was Jake Rainey. Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane and Cooter are the only two characters that's in both, but Cooter in the "Moonrunners" was a stock driver not the Haggs boys friend. The car in the "Moonrunners" was called Traveler after R.E. Lee's horse.
The "Moonrunners" is based on the life of moonshiner and NASCAR driver Jerry Rushing.

In one of my literature classes in college we had to write a paper about the connection between the "Dukes of Hazzard" and the "Moonrunners".
Surprised I can remember all that.. lol

I was always amazed that a documentary show like that could run for that many seasons. It was a good reality show! lol

When I was up in New Jersey, they asked me if life down South was really like in the "Dukes of Hazzard". I told 'em it was close, but it was more like "Hee-Haw"!! bouncing smile
