synthetic lubes and cleaners

Post by sigpro2022 on Sat Jan 28, 2012 9:40 am

I just purchased a Sig Sauer pistol, it came with Mil Comm's TW25B grease. I tried it and loved it. Any opinions on using synthetic lube and cleaners? I've always been a Hoppe's 9 fan and Rem Oil or WD40. I've tried the gun grease that came with my Sig on my Glock and Beretta, also using it on my Bushmaster M4.

Has anyone had any bad reactions to using these synthetic products?

I use to use Hoppes but have now switched over to the Gunzilla and Copperzilla products. They are all natural plant based oils that clean and lubricate nicely and will not cause harm to the gun, wood, or user. Plus the copperzilla works better than any product I've ever used. Just follow the directions and you'll be amazed at how much aqua marine color comes out on your patches.

Mobil One Synthetic Trans Fluid

Post by PCWW on Sat Jan 28, 2012 4:46 pm

I have been using M 10 which appears to be a great product. Mostly for the cleaning aspect. I am now switching to Mobil One Synthetic Transmission Oil. Pricey for a quart, nine plus bucks. But everything I have read is thumbs up for lubrication. Anybody else have any experience with this?

I've used Amsoil for years with no problems.

Thumbs up on the Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. I've been using it for years whenever a lightweight lube is called for. I use Mobil 1 synthetic 10W-30 motor oil for applications needing a heavier oil, and Mobil 1 synthetic red grease where ever grease is called for. They all work perfectly on anything I've needed to lube from guns to fishing reels to mowers. The most important thing is to know what weight lube the job demands. As for cleaning I've been using Gunslick Foaming Bore Cleaner lately and really like it. Squirt it in, let it foam, let it sit, run a few patches through, and voila... squeaky clean bore.

Birchwood Cleaner

Post by PCWW on Mon Jan 30, 2012 7:34 pm

As stated I am good to go on all of the Mobil One products. Incredibly cheaper than any product made for "guns". I will try the grease asap. BTW I have been using Birchwood Cleaner and it really works. In fact I tried the M 10 and the Birchwood yesterday and the Birchwood was a lot better.
