Wow, i cannot believe how horrible this was, I almost want to start a new thread to tell people to never to go to this show. They were Getting mad at people for trying to sell there firearms to other people, stating that "The vendors feel like there not getting a shot at all the customers". One of my friends was told to take off a paper sign he was wearing trying to sell his SIG. They told him "The venders are Dont like what your doing". On top of all that, 90% of the stuff was China made crap. What a waste of time.

You know i remember a time when a gun show was a place for PPL to show and talk guns. some PPL set up with historical weapons that were not even for sale just to teach PPL about them. there all just flea markets for gun stuff now.

It's sad this is what all the shows are coming to. In the past far years I have been going to them I have been seeing a lot more jerky, jewelery, airsoft crap, china made "tacticool" gear and junk like that. We all know and expect insane prices but they have been less and less willing to haggle. At the last Biloxi one there was a guy selling round receiver mosins and he wanted $139 for them, yea it's worth a few more bucks to have all the grease already cleaned off but these were also beat up and well used. I told him I can get them for $99 all day and even the hex ones for $129 but he didn't care at all, he told me to go buy them then. I have had more luck buying from other people walking around or from Mike Smith, I have bought a few from him now for adequate prices. I wish there was something we could do to turn the pattern around, do we need to complain to the organizers about all the junk? I'm sure they will tell us to shove it because they are making money off them too. We need to hold our own show and advertise it as a REAL gun show where we screen the vendors. Maybe it's just a dream haha.

I think the only way we can get back to the shows the way they use to be is starting a gun club and hold club meetings. and invite only venders that sell guns and related items.Iif someone wants to set up and take some of there toy out of the safe and take them for a walk they can set up to and it wont cost an arm and a let to do so.

Been to one show since I came back to Florida and it wasn't bad but the junk outnumbered the guns by a wide margin and the gun prices were high as a cats' back. Sold one pistol for an OK price but have not been back cause it costs me $16-20(gas and entry fee). I'm done with shows unless something changes!

I don't understand why they wont haggel. If you Budge on your already crazy price down to somthing realistic, you could sell guns all day. But here the REAL question. Someone is buying these guns, but WHO? Dumb people that have no idea what firearms are worth, these vendors are holding out for someone. I mean, thats the only thing i can come up with.

The best way to end crappy shows like this is to quit giving them our entrance fees. If there's nobody at the show buying, the dealers can't justify paying for a spot and the promoters can't rent the hall without the door take and vendor's fees. Vote with your dollars. Heck even the local shops can't afford to keep everything anybody may want in stock and I really think that online purchasing (Buds and Gallery of Guns) with a local guy doing the transfer for a fee is the way of the future. Times change.

There are still good shops out there. I will put a word out there for Cook's Gun shop in Dieberville. Very fair prices and They are very curtious and respectfull. I like to do bussiness when possible with people like them.

I +1 cooks. Stopped in on my way out of town, I was impressed with the selection and prices. I think that most dealers wont haggle because if it doesn't sell they will dump it on gunbroker. One local shop in picayune doesn't even put the stuff that comes in on display most of the time

I will say that this show was not heavily promoted. I did not even know about it until Mike Smith asked me if I was going a few weeks ago.
I can say that with the feedback I have heard, I will not be setting up at this one.
I will be at Biloxi (Classic Arms Productions) on the 17th and 18th of this month. I have never done a coast show before but am going to give them a shot this year.

The one's in Biloxi are not too bad. Well... Most gun prices are still too high, but you can find deals here and there. And you see alot of people trading. What are you selling at your booth? I'll stop by

I sell a little of everything. 99% new. I will have the usual semi automatic handguns(Springfield, Glock, Ruger, SMith and Wesson, Taurus etc... A few revolvers, Some Mossberg turkey shotguns, 1911's, plenty of black rifles, FN rifles and a LAR Grizzly BIG BOAR 50 cal with tripod, bipod, Night Force scope, hard case and drag bag that just came in. Also got a few armalite pistols in and waiting on some 308 and 338 long range armalites to arrive (may not have them by Hattiesburg or Biloxi shows).

Like I said, I have a little bit of everything, will have 9 tables.

Come by and see us.

I have found just the opposite to be true of Cook's. The last three guns I bought I went there first to get prices then went to Dick's and ordered it for considerably less (~$60 cheaper on a ~$500 gun). I told them I'd really like to do business with them and asked if they'd match Dick's prices. I told them I always checked with them first to give them a shot at my business and the wiseass behind the counter, that wasn't even part of the conversation, said in a very condescending and accusatory tone "If you check with us first then how do you know Dick's is cheaper?" That was the straw that broke the camel's back; I had gone out of my way, knowing it was cheaper elsewhere, to give them the chance to earn my business. I set the reloading supplies I was gonna buy on the counter and left and haven't been back since. That was more than a year ago. Most anything I need for reloading I can order and have in 2 days for cheaper and without tax.
