I wonder how it compares to a Barrett 50 cal? I've shot the 50 and the recoil was not as bad as it appears in the video, unless the folks in the video are just a bunch of whimps, which is my guess.

That's some wicked recoil! Even with the mercury recoil absorbers, you'd think they'd put a brake on it.

It's a bit less powerful than a .50 BMG.

From Wiki, both rounds w/ 750gr bullets:

.577 T-Rex -- 2,480 ft/s and 10,240 ft-lbs
.50 BMG -- 2,820 ft/s and 13,241 ft-lbs

Of course, there's a pretty big difference between firing a 13-lb rifle and firing a 25-35 lb rifle that has a muzzle brake. I have no doubt that the T-Rex could produce as much or more felt recoil.

Very true the Barrett is much heavier and has that huge muzzle brake.

Think the 950 jdj is stronger than the 50
