Starting to feel old

Post by TankerHC on Mon Jan 30, 2012 6:54 am

Celebrated my daughters 21st Birthday yesterday, also realized next month it will be 32 years since I started basic training and in April will be 11 since I retired. Man the years seem to fly by.

Ugh, I can handle my kids growing up. My job is to keep them alive and teach them what they need to know so they can go live their own lives. Keep your head up, tanker. You have been doing your job. Like cottonmouth said, it's better than the alternative.

What makes the age sink in is when those grey curlies start to show up. You KNOW you are old when that dark day comes.

thinking Well...lets see......you retired when your kid was 10.....

How many people on this earth do that?.....ans Not many at all

U are a lucky man - Think of it this way....you got to retire early

Bad news - as a general rule...."retired men" don't live as long....don't believe me...Google it

I have a soon to be 16 year old and will be working another 30 if I live that long...I would not bitch too loud.....

Retired from the Army when she was 10. Fully retired when she was 17.
