I'm coming from Illinois.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. I'm looking forward to finding out all the best places to shoot. Hattiesburg seems to be short on ranges!

A midwestern boy, huh? I'm from Kansas myself. Damn yankees are taking over the South.

There are NO places to shoot around town. It sucks bad. I usually go out to camp shelby and hunt for a good place with a backstop. You have to work around the soldiers and different areas are closed off or open every time I go. You are exposed to the sun and no bathrooms around for the 3 girls that are usually with me. PITA!

McComb, Ellisville, Jackson, Gulf Coast all have ranges. I went to Magnolia in Byram(S of Jackson) and liked the set up there. Takes about an hour and 10 minutes to get there from my house. I think I may join in March when they open up to new members.

I need to take out a loan and start a new business. We need an indoor range down here!

There was an indoor range on West Pine a few years back, but it was poorly ventilated and unpopular. You couldn't focus on your sights because your eyes would water from the smoke. I was told today that there is a gun shop in Ellisville that has an indoor range, but I have no idea if that is true.

You would think that a city the size of Hattiesburg would have either an outdoor or indoor range.
There is plenty of "money" in Hattiesburg, I guess they don't shoot.

It certainly seems strange to me that their isn't any kind of range here. I can't imagine that their isn't demand in the area. I know that I've spoken to other people new to Hattiesburg that were as surprised and frustrated as I have been at the lack of places to shoot. I've got plenty of ammo at the moment, but I don't shoot as much as I'd like to because the cost of the gas it takes me to get to a decent range and back keeps me home a lot of days (probably why I've got plenty of ammo Smile ).

Too bad the old indoor range wasn't a little nicer, it would probably still be open. I know I would be going there.
