If its anything like the one Kimber made years ago then it'll be nothing but trouble. Maybe they have a different maker for their frames?
I keep seeing one at the gun shows for $700 or so....not bad but if the frame cracks on it, which they were prone to do, at one time Kimber would only replace it with an aluminum frame(after the deal with the polymer frame maker was done), and now I've been hearing they've stopped doing that all together, but in my experience with Kimber's service I doubt that. Either way I'm not willing to risk it, or risk buying one made by another company that could have the same issues.
Just wait till Mr Doug hears about this

I'll stick to steel and wood...a plastic 1911 makes me wish there was a puking smiley to chose from. JMB is prolly turning in his grave!

Like a wise man once said, just because you can do something doesn't mean that you should.

I don't care for the aluminum framed 1911's much less poly. I just like the heft of an all steel 1911. A poly frame may be a plus for conceal carry. I'll just wait and see how they hold up.

Don't know if y'all know it or not but rra knows their way around a 1911.
they were building them before they started with the ar15. So I doubt they will put there name to something thats not going to work.

Not saying their junk. I just like the weight of steel in a everyday shooter. But for a full size CCW this may be a winner for someone.

This isn't the first polymer 1911. There were a few but most were double stack or have been discontinued a few years ago. Wilson KZ45, Kimber Ten II, Charles Daily M5(Bul), STI, Infinity, ect.

.....told ya
Haha I'm with you mr doug. I'm ok with aluminum frame 1911s, because I carry one, but I still prefer all steel in a 1911 and this goes completely against that, and I'd be willing to bet the weight difference between the polymer frame and an aluminum one is negligible

There is a steel insert or core inside the plastic.

"JMB is rolling in his grave"
If I had a nickel for evertime I've read that on a forum.... It is said of compensators, RDS, magwells, 1911s in any other caliber than .45, Aluminum frames, Hi capacity frames.....
My guess is that he has a big grin on his face, knowing how many people like his design enough to want to use it for new ideas, different calibers etc...
My opinion is still out on the polymer RRA. I see no real need for it at first glance. ALTHOUGH, if it is reliable, I could see it as a lightweight carry option for someone who is very used to the 1911 controls.

I concur. It would feel better against my hide, be lighter, and it should cost less. I wouldn't try to shoot it 10,000 rounds though.
