John Browning was working on a better design when he died. The Hi-Power was supposed to be striker fired, is hi-cap,and a linkless cam, tilting barrel action just like a Glock.

I like it. 1911s are fun to shoot but I don’t have any interest in carrying one. If RRA has managed to produce a quality product and drop some of the weight I might reconsider. Although, if a fella wants to carry a slim 45 the Glock 36 is still a better choice.

May be the 1911 will be ok if we give it another 100 years to develop. Some guns are just late bloomers. : )

Not exactly, what happened was he sold his patents to Colt and couldn't use any design elements of his perfection for the Hi-Power.

If I had a nickel for evertime I've read that on a forum.... It is said of compensators, RDS, magwells, 1911s in any other caliber than .45, Aluminum frames, Hi capacity frames.....

My guess is that he has a big grin on his face, knowing how many people like his design enough to want to use it for new ideas, different calibers etc...

My opinion is still out on the polymer RRA. I see no real need for it at first glance. ALTHOUGH, if it is reliable, I could see it as a lightweight carry option for someone who is very used to the 1911 controls.

Thank god somebody said it. "JMB is rolling in his grave"..or "if it ain't broke don't fix it" "9mm 1911's are a sin", "If JMB intended it to be that way he would have designed it that way" Give me a censored break. no
