I'm reading American Sniper right now....pretty good so far

just got my copy, ready to read. its nice knowing the profits are going to families of guys who didnt come home alive.

I listened to him on the Wilkow Majority the other day. This is a humble guy. His record beat Hathcock but he says he isnt even in the same league as Hathcock, he says Hathcock is the greatest sniper of all time, bar none. (Im sure he meant American because I have read of Russian Snipers getting over 900 kills during WWII). When asked about fighting while his leg was burning, he simply said "I was terrified for my life, I was trying to stay alive, nothing heroic about it, I was using an M4 and a Machine Gun casing flew on me and I didnt have time to stop to remove it". He went on and on like that. I'm going to be buying his book this weekend just because he is like that, no braggart, just a man doing his duty.

I enjoyed the interview, will read the book and Hathcock was the best ever period when all aspects of sniping are considered concerning a sniper. He did not score kills like the Russian did but the Russian did over 90% percent of his kills in urban and city fighting where the majority of his shots were under a 100yds and where the environment was extremely rich with targets due to the tactics of his day. It was totally a different type of sniping compared to Hathcock's environment, but that was not to say the Russian was not good, he was a great sniper.

on page 71 and its a great read. i e mailed him and had a response. he is so im not a hero in his talk, i told him he has stood on the shoulders of giants and one day someone will stand on his. a place most of us just dream of, but cant amagine with that record, he was in a lot of deep popo getting there. we just sit in our safe ranges and shoot and the targets dont shoot back.

I heard him on opie and Anthony talking about his run in with Jesse the governor Ventura. The second he said that he punched that jacka$$ in the face I bought the book. I like that guy!

Thats another good reason for me to buy the book. I cant stand Ventura. He is a 100% absolute phony. He was not a SEAL and he didnt serve one day in Vietnam like he used to proclaim to everyone that would listen. He was always talking about "Hunting man in Vietnam and if all you have hunted was game you dont know what its like". He was a Frogman, Frogman Teams and the Navy SEALS didn't merge until 1983, he was on UDT 12 based out of the Phillipines (Based on a beach where they did a lot of partying no less) doing ADMIN missions. For Frogmen to be SEALS and go to VN they had to go through SEAL training then be assigned, he wasnt. He was outed last year by the Green Beret that now runs an organization that outs fake military. Ventura, not his real name, and his brother both served in UDT 12. His own Commander told the truth then Ventura claimed he never said he was a SEAL or served in VN, they found 145 references of him telling interviewers that he did and was. Now when asked about being a SEAL instead of bragging about hunting "Man" he says "I dont want to talk about it" or ignores the questions altogether.

I wished he would have kicked his azz from here to breakfast. Ill be buying his book tomorrow.
