Bryant, download the free GoPro CineForm Studio software, if you don't already have it.

Open CineForm Studio, Import your files, then when you Convert them, make sure to click Advanced Settings and change the Frame Rate to something slower.

An example of slow motion with CineForm. This was recorded at 30fps and I converted it to 10fps using the above method

Thanks, JD. I don't have CineForm and didn't know about it. When I got mine, GoPro had no software available. I'll check it out and see how it turns out.

DBChaffin wrote:Steven, your videos looked good (ok, except for the jam). On Stage 2 especially, your run was quicker than anyone except for a couple of Limited and Open shooters that would have made less reloads than you, and how many matches have you shot? LOL. I shot Stage 2 very differently than you did and wish I would have recorded it to compare. I think the way I shot it was probably most efficient for a Limited gun, but probably not so for a division requiring an extra load.

Thanks. I think I could have done it a little quicker... but I went to my belt for a mag once, and hesitated going into the 3rd port. Not sure why? Sure, It wasnt all A's or anything lol... but I didnt throw any mikes, and its fun to pull the trigger fast HA.

I agree, with a limited gun I would have broken it up differently, but I think that was the best way to shoot it with reloads.

Yeah, with all A's your run would have been a Master class score.

That edit looks cool, JD. I should be able to slow mine down to 30 frames per second and get a smooth slow motion result. I'll give it a try and post some results.

You don't need a brake pedal, just ease off the gas a bit and I know given your height it can be tough on a small shooting area, but don't get so far into the ports.

Oh and one more very important thing, don't ever shoot production, you won't like it, trust me on this one, I would never lie to you

As a new shooter I can say that what has helped (and impressed) me the most is how nice and helpful the ro's have been. They always tell me if I did something wrong in a way that doesn't sound like they're talking down to me and what I can do to keep from doing it again. Very helpfull !

Even the other shooters in my squad always tell me how good I'm doing even though they are light years ahead of me. I know I'm not very good yet but sometimes it feels like I just won the national championship by the way they talk. That's very encouraging to a new shooter!

So my advice on helping new shooters is to continue encouraging them. It sure makes me want to come back and even invite my friends.

Johnny

p.s. After a match a few weeks ago I sat around talking to and asking questions to someone whom I had just met and only knew my his first name. He was explaning all kinds of things to me. I was thinking how nice that was and how much I learned in just that one conversation.
I found out just last week that he is a grand master.
WOW!

After your results from the match, no one is going to believe that you are slow.

JD certainly missed his calling, I had him take a couple of videos at Amite and they are they best I have ever seen. Thanks again JD!

I had a great time shooting with you guys on Squad 2, lets all get together and do it again next month.
