AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 45-9-101 AND 97-37-7, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROHIBIT CERTAIN PERSONS WHO ARE NOT LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS FROM CARRYING WEAPONS IN COUNTY-OWNED FACILITIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.

It looks like this would also affect Enhanced Permit holders, even though the bill does not contain the correct language for 97-37-7. Time to contact the House Judiciary B committee members:

Re: HB 145 Concealed weapons; prohibit carrying in county-owned facilities
My concern is that someone is trying to reverse/eliminate the enhanced carry language passed in HB506 last year. Without getting into to much detail, a bill is supposed to clearly show the language that is being added/deleted. In this years HB145, all the language regarding enhanced carry added last year by HB506 is missing without any notation. In light of the negative reaction by some government officials regarding the new enhanced carry law, I am afraid this may not be a simple clerical error but an attempt to undo HB506 without alerting anyone. We all need to contact our representatives.
