UZI from J&G Sales

Post by Geaux68 on Wed Feb 08, 2012 5:41 pm

J&G Sales has UZIish guns built from part kits for sale for $699. They claim that they are built from all new parts (original and US) and the few reviews I have read sound like they are ok. Are these guns worth the money? Other than being semi-auto it sounds like they are identical to original Uzis. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Only problem with those guns is they are assembled by centurys semi retarded inbred monkies. Century guns are a complete crapshoot on whether youll get a good one or not.
Theres not much to an uzi, buy a parts kit and a nodak receiver, then you will know what you have. Will be cheaper too. Im saving up for the parts kit for my future build now.

I purchased one back when they first allowed the importation from Israel sometime in the late 70s/early 80s. Mine was actually manufactured by IMI.

Pros - they look really neat / people ask a lot of questions when you bring it out. NO recoil.

Cons - TOO DARN HEAVY -- the long barrel makes it look like crap ... sights are terrible ... did I mention that it was TOO DARN HEAVY!!

Unless you just want it for looks and a conversation piece, ain't worth the money ... IMHO.

I agree. Those things are heavy and not practical for me. Especially in full auto unless you love to blast away and waste ammo.
Even tho they are quite expensive, a MP5 shoots like a dream and is accurate. But thats a whole diff can of worms.

if it's a fun gun you are looking for then you can always try to find a KelTec sub 2000 for around $300. got a .40 at a gun show for .325 and walked out the show with another 15 round mag and 2 32 round mags for for under $400. lots of fun there and a little more thump than 9mm. but I'm also thinking of picking up a 9mm version if I evr come across one and have some extra loot.

I have also seen a few people talking about bushmaster 9mm AR15. read that they can be found for $599 but checked mentioned site and didn't see it up there. but again it looks like a great fun gun and should be pretty light weight. since it is and AR rifle with all the stuff ou can do with it I think I like this route a little more than the sub2k (since I already have one).

of course the uzi has that name and cool factor. but i think for me it's had it's day and in its current configuration just doesn't quite stack up to what's available now. that is when it comes to the fun features...

It seems to be more expensive to build them yourself. NoDak receiver is $459, Standard Parts kit $160 (Deluxe kit $260)and barrel $155 for a total of $774 (or $874 with deluxe kit). My first thought was to build one as a learning experience. Are there places to find this stuff cheaper?

Nodak receiver is 220 plus shipping for the one that's ready to build on direct from nodak, http://www.nodakspud.com/NDS-1948.htm

But don't you need the bolt to go with the receiver (Qty one NDS-1948W fully welded w/ one RM1100K bolt kit $459 shipped *new pricing*)? The $220 only buys you the receiver. I don't believe the part kits include the receiver or the bolt... "NoDak Spud LLC has made it easy to build a top quality semi auto Uzi. Using NoDak's NDS-1948 Uzi Receiver & Bolt in conjunction with our IMI Uzi Completion kit creates a legal semi auto that uses mostly mil-spec IMI uzi parts".

I did not think about the bolt kit. Most of the builds i have followed are being done by an sot building a post sample full auto or one by a machinist who milled the full auto bolt to work.
