New Frontier Armory?

Post by NotUndeadYet on Fri Feb 10, 2012 6:50 pm

I just ran across a New Frontier Armory polymer lower for sale, and can't find much about them. According to their website, they also build complete rifles, starting at 599, but everything on there is sold out. Has anyone had any experience with them?

Another thread around here about it. $100 complete polymer lowers. They are new, so not much experience out there.

I was thinking about ordering 2 or 3 for some builds I have in mind. Just wish I could find an FFL who would do it as one transfer so I don't have to pay $$$$ in transfer fees.

I have never had a FFL charge me for more than one transfer when I ordered more than one piece. If they are charging you for each reciever I would find a new FFL.

NFA is local to me and they have a truly excellent local reputation. No worries about the company or the product. I recall several members here buying Plum Crazy lowers from NFA several months back.

I find it interesting that the NFA receivers are a near perfect match for the Plum Crazy lowers. Coincidental that Plum Crazy is just a hundred miles south of here and NFA was their number one distributor? http://www.pcfmfg.com/
At any rate, a complete lower receiver for a hundred bucks is tough to pass on BUT, I'm old fashioned and prefer mine the way Eugene Stoner intended... made from forged aluminum.

Here's a nice slow motion video review of the Plum Crazy receiver.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WKOm3R7S_w

NFA isn't the first Las Vegas area dealer who has come out with their own AR receiver line. I purchased a pair of HDI, (Henderson Defense Industries) lowers because they were a limited run of aluminum receivers and had the state of Nevada image on them and our state motto.... Battle Born. I'll bet you could get a run of MSGO lowers made up by Superior Arms if you committed to maybe two hundred or so. Add your state motto and perhaps an engraving of the state flag and you've got a limited production lower that's pretty sweet. HDI now sells their own billet lower and it is very nice!

I did some calling around and everyone around here I called want's to charge per lower. Wasn't able to get Dad's on the phone, but I have a feeling they will do the same.

I figure most would want to charge by the lower considering that they have to do a form per each one. You could probably get them to charge just 1 fee if you did allot of business with them all the time.

I've bought more than one firearm on the same form, so it's either legal or the dealer is an idiot.

Mine came in on Tuesday, don't have an upper yet. But my ffl let me put one of his personal uppers on it and shoot a box through it. I thought it shot great, but I never shot an ar before. I know eventually I'm going to replace the internals with a stag lpk. Just don't like that the trigger and hammer are also polymer.

I ordered a few of these the other day, I figure for 95 bucks you can't go wrong. I now have to decide on an upper and such, so the search begins.

This I think is a very important question. I too would like an answer on this.

You can include more than 5. If two or more are handguns you must fill out the "Multiple Sales Form", but that is all.

There are five rows on the form. Per the "notices, instructions and definitions" part of the 4473, Section D...

If more than five firearms are involved in a transaction, the information required by Section D, questions 26-30, must be provided for the additional firearms on a separate sheet of paper, which must be attached to the ATF Form 4473 covering the transaction.

I have 10 of these on the way in. Received 1st two the other day for customer. Looked clean, nice triggers, hammer/trigger holes spec'd out just fine (my concern from other inferior lowers). Overall I was very pleased.
