your favorite load for .30 cal M1 carbines?

Post by ezgo on Mon Feb 20, 2012 8:59 am

I'm trying to decide on powder and bullets, any suggestions would be welcome.
For 110 gr .30 cal M1 carbine ammo, what is your favorite load data for 100 yard target shooting?
Thanks!

I use 12.4 gr. of IMR 4227 for 110 gr. FMJ or plated bullets and 12.2 gr. for 120 (+/-) gr. lead boolits.

Maybe I'll have some time to do more testing this weekend with mine and post up results.

Did this shooting some months back. Sitting position, front support at 100meters. Most of the ten rounds were centered and have a diameter of 60mm.

Thank you to both of you!

ezgo, if you can get them, try out the PRVI bullets. They´re cheap and good.

Thanks for the info, Ulrich. I might try and get some of those bullets and try them out. I've got a bunch of .30 Carbine bullets right now (cast lead boolits, FMJ, & plated bullets).

You´re welcome! Don´t know about the prices at your side of the pond, but i had to pay 60 Euros for 1000 of them and compared to the Sierra bullets with 80 Euros for 500 bullets, they are really cheap.
