State Gun Laws
I believe all of the carry laws discussed have been on the state level, in reading the locations of the participants we cover the state pretty well. This past legislative session two good gun bills died from lack of action in the house. It goes to reason this happend because the reps did not recieve pos support for their passage. How do you think we can get the gunowning public more intrested in state affairs? We have pretty good laws, compared to other states, but they could be better. I believe this will be where all of our gun rights victories will come from for the next couple of years.

Re: State Gun Laws
Unfortunately, I think that the average joe gun owner is not that engaged in politics nor in his own gun rights.
I would guess that the average member and poster on msgunowners is very engaged.
We have to reach out and convince others to come along and get vocal and get active...
It may take the loss of some of our rights before we wake up...Hope not...but I'm afraid it may happen.
It's hard for me to see how gunowners have any "wins" at the National level until the 2010 elections....
For now the battles such as they are will be at the state and local level....
My belief is everyone in the fight needs to be a member of MSFOA, GOA and the NRA.
I've rambled enough...

Good points, I also think we are used to looking at Washington, where our rights are under the most threat. Our local officials are willing to work with us but they need to hear our concerns.
