Paintjob on the AR...Cerakote part II
My second attempt with CeraKote. The color is "Satin Mag". Ive had this gun since 2003 and it was my first AR, its an older Bushmaster from back when Bushmaster was the big dog in AR15s allthough the onlything left from the original gun is the upper reciever and lower reciever housings. It had a good bit of battle damage and needed a facelift.
I painted every inch of the recievers and rail system, insides and out. The Cerakote had zero affects on the rifles tolerances, everything went back together just as easy as you please. I only mixed up about 1.5oz and had a small bit left over so the stuff goes a long way. Cant beat it.

That looks great. You know you ought to come to the Meet &Greet and bring your spay gun and do a demo, I'll let you use my AR...

Nice job! About to order some of the air dry and try out. Soon as I get an oven built.... will use the heat cure.
Re: Paintjob on the AR...Cerakote part II
I need a bigger oven. My wife's meatloaf tastes like acetone...
What's your plans for an oven?

That looks great Beltfed! I really like that color. You're right about Cerakote going a long way. I have yet to finish without having some left over.

Re: Paintjob on the AR...Cerakote part II
Thanks guys.
JK, it a Young Manf. Natn'l Match Chrome bolt.
I was a little apprehensive about going with silver on an AR, but I figured Id break from the normal tan/camo scheme and go wild with it. It paid off as apparently everyone likes the silver. I like it too and the more I look at the gun the more I like it.
I ended up doing the barrel and muzzle break in KG GunKote black because the brownish gray parkerizing didnt mesh well with the bright silver. It needed more contrast. Today I also added a set of KNS pins in black to finish off the rifle......now I need to get it to the range.

Man, that looks great. I really like the way you have that rifle setup. It has all of the right parts in all the right places. The silver and black is a nice combo too.
