BUIS Recommendations?

BUIS Recommendations?
I want to beef-up one of the M-4 Bushmasters I have. It currently has an EOTech 512 sitting on it. I want to add the EOTech 3X mag and a set of BUIS (back-up iron sights). The EOtech 3X will be the side flip type. One of my problems is that the forward handguard has no top rail to mount a front BUIS on it. Any recommendations on how I can attached a front BUIS on this weapon and what manufacture recommendations do you have for the rear and front BUIS?

Re: BUIS Recommendations?
You can go with the YHM gas block front sight it replaces the current low pro gas block you have or you can get their railed gas block. As for the rear BUIS I've always liked the ARMS #40 or a Matech 600. If you want to keep the middy look you can go with a mid length rail system and just buy a set of BUIS like MI or Troy make like this

Stryker -- thanks so much - Yes, that is exactly what I am looking for .... should I be concerned about getting different manufactures for the front and rear and should I purchase they same manufacture for both - does it make a difference?

Re: BUIS Recommendations?
I know that the YHM flipup front gas block sight is compatible with other rear BUIS like the ARMS #40. With the railed gas block you have to buy the taller front BUIS so there's not a height issue. I usually don't mix and match you could get everything you need from Yankee Hill Machine Co. here's a link to how to install a YHM front gas block

Re: BUIS Recommendations?
Captain, I use some YHM for the front and not sure what for the back, was given them. Just be sure you don't get anything but steel for the gas block. I was going to get some mag-pull or something but then I found out they were polymer. I have some Knight Armament Rails my son sent but they have some inserts for a light barrel and I have an H-bar. He said I'm doing something wrong so I am waiting his leave to get me straight.
How are you going to put so much on the receiver without a rail?

New front handguards; lower profile -- move EOTech up and then mount behind it .... If my measurements are correct, it should work but will be a tight fit ... worried about relief between the 3X mag and the EOTech .. getting the flip to side 3X so I can work the buttons on the EOTech .... We will see!!
If it doesn't work on the bushy, I got a Colt HBAR that will get it!

Re: BUIS Recommendations?
Hey CAPT you might be able to go with this set up? With the LaRue LT-110 mount you can place the eotech a little more forward over the hand rail and it has a small rail on the rear made for a 3x MAG or a PVS-14.When you use this mount with the 3x you will have to buy the LT-602 low pivot mount.Nice AR ufcfan I like the ACE stock and Midwest Industries makes some good stuff.

Sid its a locking ring it locks the free floating one peice rail to the upper so it does not come loose or twist. LaRue LT-110 EO mount raises the EO up by .275". This extra height sticks the irons low in the EO window giving you a lower 1/ 3 cowitness so you can still see the irons if push-comes-to-shove.

Re: BUIS Recommendations?
Stryker, what is that twist on (or pull back) piece aft of your forward grip? Did you have to get higher BUIS to cowitness your eotech? Ask all this because I am fixing up one AR and want to get all I can out of it. I'm leaving my Bushy pretty much plane jane.

Re: BUIS Recommendations?
Captain, that HBar is top of the line. Wish I could cough up the cash for one. Been trying to get a competition match HBar off a friend for a while now but he knows what he's got. Military guys say Colt is going to stop selling to the general public and stick to military and LE but you know how scuttlebutt is.

Re: BUIS Recommendations?
Now that bottom one really looks good .... I am trying to find the EOTech 3X now ... once I have it in hand I can get a better idea of what it is exactly I will need. I really like that LaRue riser instead of some of the separate rail risers I have seen ... Thanks for sharing.
