whats a fair price for a used Remington 1100 12 gauge?

Post by rowlaj on Fri Aug 03, 2012 2:52 pm

Found a guy selling one for 400 and wondered if this was a fair price. Gun looks good. Its probably 5 years old. Let me know if this is a fair price for one.

This guy was firm on $400 but I was thinking that might be a little high.

I guess that depends on how much work you want to put into it. Buying used guns is kind of like buying used cars.

Philadelphia Gun & Pawn has a couple of older 1100s in the $200 range. They need some tender love and care though.

I wouldn't be afraid to go $400 on one that was in good condition. It would help if it came with some choke tubes.

It depends

I have a 1974 model, 28", modified choke, vent rib, in excellent condition, that $400 won't remotely buy.

Looks like an ok/good buy!

But I'm biased.

What makes your 1974 model, 28", modified choke, vent rib, in excellent condition so special? I have a 74 model, 28", improved choke, vent rib, in excellent condition that Im think about selling for around $400. Just curious. Is there something Im missing?

LMAO...OK. I just thought I may have been under valuing mine. I have never like this improved cylinder. Im going to sell it and get one with choke tubes I think.

I sold one last year with modified barrel nonremoveable choke for 300. Excellent shape. Take him 350 cash and see if he changes his mind

$400 won't touch mine either. It was bought in 81 and I have a modified plain barrel on it and somewhere there is an improved (i think) vent rib barrel.

My grandfather bought mine the year I was born. He gave it to me when I was 11. It's what I killed my first dear with. It has lots of sentimental value to me, but other than that its a great shotgun. I've never had an issue with it. Now days its used more for skeet shooting than anything.
