academy ammo prices

Post by Ellis93 on Wed Dec 05, 2012 7:15 pm

Was there tonight looking around and seen they had a bucket-o-bullets by Remington, its full of their 22lr golden bullets, for 65$....1400count
Other thing there was 45colt/410 combo for 39$,50bullets and 20shells. Guess it's setup for us judge owners.

Just a little heads up,it's an ok deal on either

I have never bought handgun ammo at Academy. I am just not willing to wait in line for 15 minutes while a bunch of guys stand at the register looking at guns.

They need to separate out their ammo register or something.

And the elevated handgun ammo display way back on the wall behind the counter annoys me. I like to look at stuff without asking for help.

Walmart finally moved their ammo into display cases you can stand in front of.

I hate trying to squint to see what the ammo is and what the price is. It annoys me to no end, I end up walking around the counter or annoying the daylights out of the employee about each price. Madison Wal-Mart made me extremely happy when I saw they had it out in the open like that.

I haven't been to the Jackson store in a while but the ones I frequent in south Louisana have moved all the pistol ammo out on the shelves with the rest of the ammo.

I am pretty sure it is a common complaint.

Academy in Jackson has all ammo on the shelves for easy picking.

The last time I was there I noticed 4 boxes of Rem 300 Blackout way up on top of the shelves. There was an empty space on the shelf that listed 300 Blackout at $11.99. I used a buggy and was barely able to reach those boxes. That ammo came home with me........ Smile

Yep, ammo's on shelf now. That deal on the 1400 rounds of 22 is pretty good, about what I found using ammoseek.com

Yup - the ammo is right out where you can get your hands on it - no help needed. And, I always pay for mine at the registers up front - don't recall ever paying in the back.

The ammo has been out from behind the counter for most of this year. You can't pay for anything at the gun counter. That computer is only for looking up guns to see if it is in stock.
BTW: that Bucket o' Bullets sold out the same afternoon, Tuesday, they put it on the shelf.
