got me a surefire!!
Buddy of mine came over tonight and had a present for me. A Surefire 6P, holster, and 4 spare batteries!!
Don't know what I did to deserve it but I sure am thankful to have it!!
Some people sure are generous, and I think my buddy is as giving as they come!
Man what a great light!! 65 lumens output with optional 120 lumen bulb available... Sweet!

yep the Surefire's are the way to go if you need to blind the sh@t outta someone or something. I have a Defender E2 (the slim one with the cut bezel for striking) Its been a great light seeing almost daily use for over 18 months now. In the summer the kids use it for a dive light in the pool ! It lights up the night better than the old mini mag I carried for so many years. I do recommend getting a back up bulb as soon as possible for piece of mind due to the fact they are not the easiest to locate when yours goes down. I buy the Surefire batteries in bulk boxes and keep a spare bulb in there. The whole box fits well in the center console or the glove box.
Enjoy it, you'd be supprised what you've been NOT seeing!

I have had mine for over 10 years! I did not use it much because it burned through batteries and bulbs, but then I got the LED conversion head. Not it sees alot of use. The conversion gets my reccomendation! I have the old 9Z by the way.

I also share your enthusiasm for SureFire products. IMHO the 120 lumen upgrade is not worth the $. I bought it and can really "see" the differance. The bulk batteries are a good idea. I have a friend that used to work at an "adult males toy store" ie gunshop and he got me some batteries cheap. However he has since changed jobs and now sells beer with another friend of mine. Joe S...just don't make the mistake of letting the wife use it...cause if you do....
you'll have to buy another
As a matter of fact...you might as well do it.
A good 2nd choice are Streamlight products...you can get em locally at Mid-South Uniform Terry Rd Jackson,MS

Re: got me a surefire!!
I will probably pick up another. They really aren't as expensive as I figured (less than $100 for the "economical" ones) so owning a couple are feasible. I still want a First Light tho.
I will also check out the LED conversion.

I have one like SIgs, the G2 LED. More than enough light. I need to get another one, just 'cuz.

You've a good friend there.
I've a E2E Executive Elite that I've had for a few years now...best investment I've ever made. The ole Mag-Lites rarely see use anymore.

I got a 9P Surefire. It's great! Had it five years so far, saw a lot of abuse! It seems to drain batteries quick. Other than that, a really good product!
