Hello All,
I finally found a forum that I can relate to.... Moved here to Mississippi from Michigan last July and stumbled on this forum today. I look forward to participating and learning from all of you.

Welcom and we're glad to have you. I met two young men fron Michigan in the gunshop on Thursday. They are here because jobs are scarce up that way. We talked for an hour and a half about hunting here in MS. They were very surprised to learn Black Bears are protected here and killing one will get you a prison term. This is a good family type gunsite. If you want hunting info thry the forum at Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks.

Maybe you can conduct a "How to drive in the snow" class for the locals. Don't expect any snow plows or salt from the highway folks. You are pretty much on your own. But the good news is that they close most businesses and schools when there is any snow at all---sometimes just a prediction of snow will get schools closed.

Born and raised in the Detroit area. Did most of my hunting up in the West Branch area. Spent a lot of time near Hamburg (Brighton) camping. Looking forward to getting to know this area better and getting out into the woods here.
