Those Remington subsonics are looking mighty good right now. Even with all the duds and squib charges.

Flyers? Must have had some quality issues, these things rock for me. I shoot suppressed as well and they are cream of the crop for suppressed shooting. They are highly recommended in the suppressed 22 community for being clean and consistent for plinking.

If you like CCI Standards for hunting you should try the Segmented Subsonic. I tried several brands and types and settled on those as the best overall performer.

.22 ammo

Post by fslay0435 on Thu Jan 24, 2013 10:47 am

Haven't seen any in Laurel for a while either. I got family in Louisiana asking about it too.

I know it's one of the cheapest calibers to shoot, but I would have never imagined running out of 22 ammo. I just imagined it being stockpiled in factory warehouses or something.

I'll keep checking around here and let you know if I spot any here.

That is a very good price. I will be glad when the availability of ammo goes up and the prices come back down. I believe it will in the next 3 months. I am so ready to go plinking this summer. It's gonna be harder to just go shooting at the current rates.

I went by walmart in greenville last night the ammo shelves were almost bear no 22 ammo at all. I saw 1 box of 17hmr ammo on the shelf. I didn't really need any just looking to see for myself what everybody was talking about. I also got in a brand new cabellas catalogue and in it they had federal 22 ammo for $86.00 for 2100 plus a ammo box. I tried to order it but it's not available. I expected this on 223 ammo but not 22 lr ammo also.

Went by delta outfitters in vburg this afternoon to get two spare mags for a marlin 25 from the gun counter. On the way out I stopped by the ammo shelf behind the register up front. There was a 525 rnd federal .22lr "value pack" with a $100 sticker on it and two 50rnd Winchester .22lr boxes for $12/each. Dude behind the counter asks, "can I help you with something?" Said "no thanks" shaking my head on my way out.

Yep My wife swung by there checking on .223 the other day. $20/box of 20 independence.I told her to let them keep em. The next day bass pro in pearl comes through with the same ammo for like $9.95. They also get stupid with the 303 british.

FYI for you guys looking for .17HMR, Wilson's of Taylorsville had plastic "ammo" type boxes with 500 rounds for $150 if my old memory serves me well. No 22 to be found, call Danny before making the trip, he is a good guy. Mac
