Last Friday, they were stocked up on pistol ammo but I wasn't willing to pay those prices. I left out of there empty handed.

I can't stand price gouging and Gander Mountain is guilty of it everyday. pull hair

I was there today. They have a lot more ammunition than they did the last time I was there, but very little 9mm and almost no .22 LR. In fact, a guy found the last two boxes of .22's that I had overlooked. But, even if I had picked them up I would have let him have them. He had his young son, who had gotten a rifle for Christmas, with him, and they hadn't been able to get any ammunition for it. I hope they had a lot of fun shooting this afternoon.

They are pretty well stocked up on overpriced ammo in just about any caliber except 9mm, .223, and .22 LR. There were plenty of boxes of 100 rds of "el cheapo" .45 ACP for either $60 or 70, IIRC. I've checked in twice in the past month, and there seems to be a perpetual group of 15-20 ammo buzzards circling the shelves in the shooting department. Same at Academy.

I was just in there and all I saw was a pallet with some 500 round bulk (loose) packed remington 9mm. had about 2 layers left but did not see a price.
I did not see a box of 22 or 223/5.56.

Later guys, got to go buy a damn phone now.

^^^This
Also second the comments about el cheapo .45ACP bulk, CCI Brass & Fiocchi. Plus PLENTY of overpriced "Personal Defense" in 9mm, .40, and .45ACP, 20 or 25rd boxes depending on brand (CCI, Rem or Federal) running from $24-$29 per box.
Lots of people circling the ammo.

I stopped by Gander Mountain during lunch. They had plenty of pistol ammo. The only thing i bought was 2 boxes of 7.62X54R.

There were some buzzards circling the ammo. I don't know why. The prices are offensive! Ain't paying $24.99 for el cheapo blazer aluminum 38 special. Mad

I was in Hburg WMT they had a few boxes of premium 270 and 3-4 boxes of oddball stuff and plenty of 35 Whelen the guy working there told me they had people in there all day Mon-Fri waiting and walking around to see if ammo or guns came in... I saw the Gander ad I wondered how much of that they would actually have on hand,, with this frenzy it wouldn't last long. My 75 year old Dad is going through his stuff he says "time to sell for him" , I bought his Colt Trooper, he is going to gun show Sat or Sunday.. to sell not to buy .. He has nothing special but he has reloading equipment ect , not Dillion or high dollar stuff , 2000 rounds of 38 brass ect you couldn't give that away four years ago.. now it brings a decent price, guns and ammo have always for me been a decent investment although that was the last thing on my mind when I bought them. I do not have a single gun that I want to get rid of.. but I have a few I should.. again that's not why I bought them

One thing I noticed last time I was in there ... they've got some obscure calibers stocked. There were a couple boxes of Remington Green Box .250 savage 100 SP's. $40 a box. I'm almost certain I'm the only one in the area who hunts with a .250-3000 savage, and if there's more of us, it's got to be less than 5. And there ain't no way I'm paying $2 a round for regular green box ammo.
